Privacy policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026

This policy describes how iLovePDFx handles information when you visit ilovepdfx.com, use a document tool or contact us. For questions about this policy or your information, email [email protected].

Files processed in your browser

Tools marked as browser processing read the file on your device and create the result there. Their conversion code does not upload the document to our conversion endpoint or spend conversion API credits. Your browser may download supporting libraries, workers or OCR language models from services such as cdnjs, jsDelivr and the OCR model host. Those network requests can disclose ordinary connection information, such as IP address and browser details, to the download service.

Files processed in the cloud

Browser tools process documents on your device. Other document tools upload the file to our private hosting worker. This processing mode does not send documents to ConvertAPI. Private temporary files are removed after conversion or failure; interrupted jobs are cleaned when the worker restarts. Download and Share return the result to your browser without creating a public document link.

Technical information and usage controls

Website hosting and security systems may record IP addresses, request times, page addresses, browser details and errors. The conversion integration keeps daily request totals, temporary salted hashes of visitor IP addresses for rate limiting, and a short status record for the latest API attempt. That status record does not include file contents, document passwords or raw provider responses. Rate-limit entries are set to expire after their relevant counting period.

Cookies, language and other website features

WordPress uses cookies for administrator sign-in and related functionality. Language or interface features may remember a preference or use translated-page URLs. Translation can send public website text to a translation provider; the document tools do not send uploaded document contents to the website translation service. If analytics, advertising or embedded third-party features are enabled, those services may make additional requests or use their own identifiers. Browser settings can limit cookies and stored site data, though some functions may then behave differently.

Downloads and direct sharing

Generated results are made available in the browser for you to download. Where supported, the Share file button opens your device’s sharing interface. You choose the destination; its own privacy practices then apply. We do not create a permanent public document link for that direct-share action. Copies you download, email or share remain under your control and the destination service’s control.

Messages you send us

If you email us, we receive the address, message and attachments you send. We use them to understand and respond to the enquiry, resolve issues and keep necessary correspondence. Please do not send private documents or credentials unless an appropriate arrangement has been made. We retain correspondence and operational records as needed for the enquiry, service operation and applicable obligations; we do not promise a single deletion period for all systems.

Your choices and requests

You can choose browser tools, keep local copies, avoid sending sensitive documents, clear browser data, or contact us about information you have provided. Describe your request without including unnecessary sensitive details. We may ask for information needed to locate the record or confirm your connection to it. Available rights and exceptions depend on the law that applies to your situation.

Policy updates

We may revise this policy when tools, providers or website settings change. The date above shows when this text was last updated. Check this page again when deciding whether the service is suitable for a particular document.

Tool ratings

When you submit a star rating, we store the tool, score, submission time and a salted hash of a random browser identifier. A first-party cookie remembers that identifier for up to 180 days so the same browser can update its vote instead of adding repeated votes. We do not ask for your name, email address or document contents to rate a tool. Temporary salted IP hashes help limit automated submissions and expire after about an hour. Public pages show only each tool’s combined score and rating count. A browser identifier is not proof of a unique person or a verified conversion. To ask about a rating you submitted, contact us before clearing that browser’s site data.
